Creating a Composer Access Key

When you work locally with your source code you need access to our modules. You will get that access through Composer.

Composer will require access-keys. You can generate by signing into Console and select the System menu and choose Service Access Keys.

Click Add new key and select Type Composer, a new key will be created..

The password will only be shown once, so store it in a safe location.

Keys are tied to a specific user, so each user have to use their own keys.

Saving credentials locally

Composer will usually ask if you want to save the credentials in your home directory, you can chose yes and have it do this for you, or you can manually insert it in the file ~/.composer/auth.json (Linux/Mac) as follows:

    "http-basic": {
        "": {
            "username": "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx",
            "password": "yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"
        "": {
            "username": "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx",
            "password": "yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy"
